Reflections and Advice:
1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative to other boarding schools?
Ashbury College allows students to dive into the community and passions. Also, Ashbury College has a four hour per week work program which allows students to give back to the school while learning life lessons. Every faculty that I came across really tried to make not just Ashbury College better, but myself also. Our school allowed me to push my boundaries and sign up for unique clubs. The volleyball team and music team really allowed me to meet new people. Ashbury college is an inclusive school that opens up its arms to all.
2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school?
I'm really happy that I have experienced a lot of things I never imagined I would be into. Ashbury College helped me to become a better person.
3.) What might you have done differently during your boarding school experience?
To the kids who are going to boarding schools, you don't have to be someone else just to make yourself feel accepted. You just need to be yourself and stay true to what you believed in. Have fun and explore new things that will help you to bring out the best in you.
4.) What did you like most about your school?
The people from the staff up to the highest position are really warm. I really enjoyed my stay in Ashbury College. It helped me with the things that I needed to be where I am right now.
5.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school?
Just be yourself and enjoy your stay! Dorm B was the best for me during my stay! I really had fun!
Academics:
1.) Describe the academics at your school - what did you like most about it?
I really enjoyed the relationships that I developed with my class and teachers. Everyone had faith in me to succeed and that is what I did. Ashbury College offers a unique set of faculty that really care about the students well being as well as their grades.
Athletics:
1.) Describe the athletics at your school - what did you like most about it?
The volleyball team is my family in Ashbury college. Everyone cares for one another and puts their body’s on the line. Every sport I saw had the same mentality and I could really feel how connected the players were each other and the coach. I joined the volleyball team and was welcomed with open arms. I made new friends and people were genuinely excited to have me on the team. Ashbury College makes every person feel included.
Art, Music, and Theatre:
1.) Describe the arts program at your school - what did you like most about it?
I did theatre and played for the band of school. The art building is my home and the teachers really care about the students development.
Extracurricular Opportunities:
1.) Describe the extracurriculars offered at your school - what did you like most about it?
Ashbury College offers different kinds of clubs and activities that the students can get involved in. From the volleyball team and more there is something for everyone. I really enjoyed joining multiple clubs and making new friends that I would never have talked to before.
Dorm Life:
1.) Describe the dorm life in your school - what did you like most about it?
The dorm faculty are genuine and want the best for their students. The dorms are nice and peaceful and it allows the students to have fun together while not losing any sleep. My best friends and I, we listen to music and explore our talents on using different instruments whenever we have free time.
Dining:
1.) Describe the dining arrangements at your school.
The food at Ashbury College is amazing and healthy. There is a salad bar and burrito bar along with home made desserts and it's really good.
Social and Town Life:
1.) Describe the school's town and surrounding area.
The town is really amazing and beautiful. Everything was green and it was peaceful. There are lots of things you can do while staying here and have fun.
2.) Describe the social life at your school - what did you like most about it?
I have always hated public speaking. I would feel uncomfortable. Ashbury college made me want to present an essay in front of the entire school demonstrating how much Ashbury College has changed me for the better. Ashbury College inspired me to become a more humble and sincere person. I have grown a lot as a person.
