Reflections and Advice:

1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative to other boarding schools?
Middlesex is probably the boarding school that is far ahead in terms of student body diversity, and I mean that in a very good way. Between geographical and socioeconomic diversity, you really learn a ton from all the other students and you make some incredible friendships. Additionally, the proximity to Boston is a great feature.
2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school?
The teachers are the greatest. Also, even though there is a school for 6 days per week, you get used to it and it's not bad at all.
3.) What might you have done differently during your boarding school experience?
The biggest piece of advice is, when you arrive, don't be shy. Everyone is welcoming and orientation is one of the highlights of your first year at Middlesex.
4.) What did you like most about your school?
The people. The teachers, the students, they are all so intelligent and caring. The administration is great too.
5.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school?
Have fun with the sports! It's a lot of fun and a great way to meet people who are not in your grade.

Academics:

1.) Describe the academics at your school - what did you like most about it?
The academics are tough but when you are able to do them well, it is really rewarding in the end. It really is one of the more rigorous schools. Thankfully, all the students are motivated, so when it's time to do work, everyone is focused, but there is plenty of time to have fun.

Athletics:

1.) Describe the athletics at your school - what did you like most about it?
Very developmental. I came into Middlesex not knowing how to play a single sport. Graduated with several varsity sports under my belt. Not to mention, the competition in the ISL and NEPSAC is really great and challenging.

Art, Music, and Theatre:

1.) Describe the arts program at your school - what did you like most about it?
No one comes into Middlesex as an "arts recruit", but everyone leaves with an interest for at least one type of art. There are so many resources and it's really cool.

Extracurricular Opportunities:

1.) Describe the extracurriculars offered at your school - what did you like most about it?
There is ALWAYS something going on. Clubs, community service, trips into Boston. You can't get bored.

Dorm Life:

1.) Describe the dorm life in your school - what did you like most about it?
You become really tight with the people in your dorm. The rooms are all great size, you usually have a single room for three years and a double for one of the years.

Dining:

1.) Describe the dining arrangements at your school.
The food is good. It isn't special, but it is a lot better than the average boarding school dining hall.

Social and Town Life:

1.) Describe the school's town and surrounding area.
There is a shuttle into Concord center every day after school that runs every half hour. Great for going into town to grab a bite with friends or to get groceries.
2.) Describe the social life at your school - what did you like most about it?
400 students is the perfect size because it's small enough that you know almost everyone's name, but it's big enough that there are many people to hang out with and make connections with. You really get to know a lot of people this way.
