Reflections and Advice:
1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative to other boarding schools?
Core requirements for full IB diploma and university preparation process are constantly supervised and reminded by teachers.
Well-facilitated campus that creates a comfortable learning and living environment includes gym, lounges, studio dance, library and cafeteria.
2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school?
There are many amazing things happened to me in just one year. However, the most special thing for me is that I get 93/100 GPA for IB Y1. This means that I have figured out my own way to manage time to balance between academic expectations and social life. Since I am studying in an international environment, I have pushed myself to be more sociable, open-minded and friendly so that I can easily fit in and find lovely new friends.
3.) What might you have done differently during your boarding school experience?
I have been more active since I first arrived to my school. I have been proactive in making new friends, seeking for advice, catching opportunities to try new challenging things and dealing with my personal problems. I believe that nothing is more important than making the first move when we have to adapt to a new learning and living environment. That helps me a lot in term of being more independent, confident and self-aware.
4.) What did you like most about your school?
I like supportive and knowledgeable teachers most.
5.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school?
Have a look at outdoors cafeteria area because it is really beautiful and peaceful.
Academics:
1.) Describe the academics at your school - what did you like most about it?
About academic side, specially IB program is challenging with a lot of requirements, however teachers in EF are so knowledgeable and supportive that they always keep me on track. GPA given genuinely reflects accurate students abilities. Interactions between teachers and students inside and outside classroom are really close and students are supported academically and mentally 24/7.
Athletics:
1.) Describe the athletics at your school - what did you like most about it?
I love Cross the country club in the fall period. We were guided by an enthusiastic teacher to go further our endurance limits day by day just through running and working out in gym 2-3 times a week.
Art, Music, and Theatre:
1.) Describe the arts program at your school - what did you like most about it?
I am taking IB Visual Arts which helps to improve my creativity, artistic side and satisfy my childhood passion. It also helps me to have deep insight of Art history or Art movements in order to find out my favorite style of creating art. For me, Pop Art has been the most inspirational style so far. Besides, I love Visual Art because it allows me to broaden my perspectives about how different cultures and time periods shaped artist's visions.
Extracurricular Opportunities:
1.) Describe the extracurriculars offered at your school - what did you like most about it?
National Honor Society is my favorite community because I have improved my team working skills by working with lots of dynamic outgoing peers. After every events that we accomplished, I love the way we discuss about Grow (what we can change and improve next time) and Glow (what we did well).
Dorm Life:
1.) Describe the dorm life in your school - what did you like most about it?
I have great dorm life experience when I was arranged to live with two other roommates who were from Korea and Russia. This helps me a lot with cultural exchange and English speaking. Besides, thanks to caring and supportive residential ad visors, I feel like I live in my own home.
Dining:
1.) Describe the dining arrangements at your school.
I was impressed by the cleanness of the cafeteria. There are some tables and chairs which are set outsides providing us the best experience of enjoying meals and enjoying natural freshness at the same time.
Social and Town Life:
1.) Describe the school's town and surrounding area.
The Rose Hill shopping center near EF is pretty convenient for some basic needs like groceries, pharmacy, Asian food and bank. Overall, EF campus is located in a very peaceful and safe area.
2.) Describe the social life at your school - what did you like most about it?
It is realy easy to make friends here since everyone is friendly and open-minded. There are some cultural differences in greetings, however, those differences are my favorite parts. I love the way we have slight hugs or high-five to say hello when we go around the campus. Sometimes even only one positive smile or a hug from my friend can lighten my whole blue day.
