Reflections and Advice:

1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative to other boarding schools?
The dedication of teachers and staff is unbelievable at Stanstead. I don't think I've ever been to or heard of a school where teachers are that invested in both classes and extracurricular activities.School spirit. Everyone I know who went to Stanstead loved it and is very loyal to the school. Many say it was the best time of their lives.
2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school?
The best thing that's happened to me is the people I've met, and the relationships I've kept over the years. Some of my dearest friends - both peers and teachers - are from Stanstead, and even though we live all over the world, when I have seen them, it's been like we saw each other just a few days before, even though it's been a few years often.
3.) What might you have done differently during your boarding school experience?
I would probably have come to Stanstead for two years rather than just one. I also would probably participate in more school clubs/activities other than sports, and would recommend others to do the same.
4.) What did you like most about your school?
The people!
5.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school?
Do everything you can, and maintain your relationships with your peers at Stanstead long after you leave. T

Academics:

1.) Describe the academics at your school - what did you like most about it?
I liked the small class sizes and being able to know everyone.

Athletics:

1.) Describe the athletics at your school - what did you like most about it?
I liked that there was mandatory participation, as it gave everyone the chance to be part of a team, and gave people a chance to try something they may not normally do. I also enjoyed that there were daily practices/games, and the dedication of the coaching staff, Mr. Van Dyke in particular.I also liked the opportunities we had to participate in tournaments, and how these and the daily practices/games made for a very strong team spirit and cohesion by the end of the season. I was always very proud to wear the red and white.

Art, Music, and Theatre:

1.) Describe the arts program at your school - what did you like most about it?
I did not participate in any of these programs.

Extracurricular Opportunities:

1.) Describe the extracurriculars offered at your school - what did you like most about it?
I was part of the buddy program, meaning we were matched with a student in a younger grade. There were only one or two activities during the year, which I would have liked to have more of.I really enjoyed volunteering at the elementary school in Derby. It was always great to get in the car and drive across the border with Ms. Campbell, and help the kids, and then she always let us stop at the gas station to get some snacks.

Dorm Life:

1.) Describe the dorm life in your school - what did you like most about it?
I actually really enjoyed having my own room, rather than sharing one with someone in Webster. It was nice to have my own space.

Dining:

1.) Describe the dining arrangements at your school.
I liked switching up of seating arrangements at every term, or whenever it happened. Also liked that we had some days, like Wednesday lunches, that were not sit down lunch.

Social and Town Life:

1.) Describe the school's town and surrounding area.
When I was at the school, the arena wasn't exactly on campus so it was always nice walking down the hill to go to the rink. It was also nice to be close to the States, and go to friends' houses there on weekends.
2.) Describe the social life at your school - what did you like most about it?
Loved the student center and post-study hang outs there. Also loved that there were many people that were boarding, so we developed a very tight knit community by the end of the year. Even if there may have not been too much to do sometimes on weekends, it was always nice to have each other and just spend time together.
