Reflections and Advice:
1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative to other boarding schools?
St. Andrews not only has the most incredible ethos but uses that ethos among the student body to do good. The small student population allows no one to slip under the cracks, and it’s the only school I’ve ever heard of where people actually follow the drug and alcohol policy because they care so much about the school and the student teacher relationship. People are just nice here which is something that is truly special for a high school
2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school?
I turned from a typical middle school student who spent the last three years consumed by drama and all things superficial into someone with so much more self awareness and consideration for the things beyond myself. Yes I got an unmatched education.
3.) What might you have done differently during your boarding school experience?
I would have gotten to know more people my first year. There are so many incredible people I only got to know my final year and I wish I had more time with them in my life.
4.) What did you like most about your school?
The people hands down. Both students and faculty shaped everything about my experience and helped me grow into the person I am today.
5.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school?
Get to know faculty. They are some of the smartest, considerate, and hilarious people you will ever meet.
Academics:
1.) Describe the academics at your school - what did you like most about it?
The small class size allows everyone’s voice to be heard and the teacher to really personalize their teaching for the groups vibe and learning style.
Athletics:
1.) Describe the athletics at your school - what did you like most about it?
The athletics are one area where SAS can grow. They do not recruit at all and a student body of 315 just does not always fill up the most strong teams. Our facilities are beautiful and it’s so much fun when we do win important games, but the student body would benefit if we performed better.
Art, Music, and Theatre:
1.) Describe the arts program at your school - what did you like most about it?
The dance at SAS is incredible. I haven’t partaken in any other department but it’s the type of place where the entire school shows up to support every one.
Extracurricular Opportunities:
1.) Describe the extracurriculars offered at your school - what did you like most about it?
Community service and clubs are great. There are so many and anyone can create one for literally anything.
Dorm Life:
1.) Describe the dorm life in your school - what did you like most about it?
Dorm life was a highlight of my time here. All seniors live on underclassman dorms and I think that policy forces responsibility and camaraderie between forms.
Dining:
1.) Describe the dining arrangements at your school.
Dining is not St. Andrew’s highlight. We do sit down meals with two members of each form at a table and dont have enough variety at those meals. You can always make a salad though.
Social and Town Life:
1.) Describe the school's town and surrounding area.
Middletown has every chain you could ask for, a mall nearby, a movie theater, bowling, mini golf, and some really great local restaurants. But it is certainly not a city and you don’t get out much.
2.) Describe the social life at your school - what did you like most about it?
People are just nice at SAS. Everyone hangs out on the front lawn and there are friend groups that span forms. There is no social competitions and people genuinely want to get to know you.

I think that the small student body and close knit community of St. Andrew's makes it very unique. With a student body of only about 300 students, you know everyone's name and they know yours. . .
St. Andrew's feels like a second home to me. The teachers are not only dedicated to education and fostering critical thinking in all disciplines, but also in making the school a comfortable and friendly environment. . .
