Reflections and Advice:
1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative to other boarding schools?
I'll say two, first the absolutely perfect layout of campus. You have majority of your classes right on academic row which makes the trip to classes easy especially in the winter when you're trying to spend as little time outside as possible. As well as the way the athletic fields, courts, and rink are placed makes it so convenient when supporting multiple teams and when going from workout to workout.
2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school?
I have been stretched in every way, academically, athletically, and socially. The steps I have taken in all of these areas would not have happened without New Hampton and I would not be who I am today without the relationships I've formed, and the challenges I've overcome.
3.) What might you have done differently during your boarding school experience?
I would have chosen to get involved more earlier, the amount of opportunities that are provided were countless and I did not fully dive into these opportunities until my senior year. Don't take advantage of the amazing opportunities and people that are at boarding school. `
4.) What did you like most about your school?
There's too much that I liked about New Hampton, I honestly liked every single thing about New Hampton and I would never go back and change my high school years.
5.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school?
When the weather is beautiful, and you have some time on your hands go to the big tree at the top of the hill near the end of the hockey rink. Sit there and take in campus. Whenever it's nice out and a Sunday afternoon I take my homework and go and sit on the hill. It's a place that I can go to and just enjoy the beautiful campus that I've been able to call home.
Academics:
1.) Describe the academics at your school - what did you like most about it?
The academics can be as rigorous as you choose to make them. If you choose to challenge yourself you can take IB which will do exactly that. There are so many different courses that you can take to find what you're interested in, to stretch yourself, and to have fun. One thing that I really do love about the academics at New Hampton is how engaging teachers are. They make a three hour long block go by faster than a regular class period. Teachers are constantly giving interactive projects, having debates, or taking you on a small campus field trip to prove a point or give an example.
Athletics:
1.) Describe the athletics at your school - what did you like most about it?
The athletics are incomparable. Every season you have teams going to the playoffs if not winning a championship. The level of competition is some of the best in all of New England and the athletes that come out of New Hampton go on to play all over the country in every sport. With this high level throughout all of the teams, the support is then so strong. The amount of people that come to your games to support you makes competing at a high level that much more fun. With good teams you get amazing coaches. Coaches that have been around that specific sport for much of their life, coaches that have so much knowledge that they share with their players that sometimes as a player you just ask yourself "how did I get a coach like this?"
Art, Music, and Theatre:
1.) Describe the arts program at your school - what did you like most about it?
I never participated much in the arts, music, or theater, but it's always been one of my favorite pieces of New Hampton. To be able to have so many opportunities built into your academic day to stretch yourself in all of these areas, as well as the time after classes that you also have to follow these interests is absolutely amazing to me. I'm always in awe of the different artists and actors that I've gotten to watch perform and display their art. It's amazing how many artists, musicians, and actors that we have in such a small school as well as their commitment and the beauty behind their talents.
Extracurricular Opportunities:
1.) Describe the extracurriculars offered at your school - what did you like most about it?
The sports are huge extracurriculars, but we also had more unique sports than most schools. New Hampton offers mountain biking, the outing club, as well as the non sport related extracurriculars. For instance we also had different art extracurriculars, yearbook, yoga, dance, from year to year and season to season it varied.
Dorm Life:
1.) Describe the dorm life in your school - what did you like most about it?
I was a day student when I attended New Hampton, but I spent a lot of time in the dorm. The dorms are very nice, there's plenty of room for all of your stuff and the people in your dorm can become special people in your life. Having food in your room is no problem which is so nice, with that there are always options for snacks, whether it be the snack bar at night, or the vending machines. Another thing that is great about the dorms are the dorm parents, there are so many great faulty members that you get to have and with them usually come their families. This adds so much life to campus and the dorms.
Dining:
1.) Describe the dining arrangements at your school.
The cafeteria is great. It's really only closed for two hours during the day, not including after dinner. The food is so diverse, but also consistent, you can always count on the deli bar, salad bar, fruit, bread bar, and cereal. They do a fantastic job mixing up the meals and making sure they serve some new dishes along with the school wide favorites.
Social and Town Life:
1.) Describe the school's town and surrounding area.
New Hampton School is the town, we make up majority of New Hampton the town which is fun because then you get support from locals. Also not far away you have plenty of food, shopping and activity options.
2.) Describe the social life at your school - what did you like most about it?
There are so many people from all over the world and country that have come from different homes and backgrounds that there is always someone you can find to talk to. For me being on a sports team helped a lot when trying to find a friend group for my sophomore and junior year. When my senior year came I made it part of my mission to try and get know everyone because everyone I've met in my three years have made an impact on my life in some way.

I think IB program in this school is very helpful for students to prepare for the collage and universities. Also, teachers are always on the campus, so it is always helpful for students to do. . .
One important aspect of the school is the technology. Due to the school's sponsorship each students get their own iPad which is set up to have grades, assignments, ways to take notes, textbook, and more. . .
