About the Author:

Years Attended ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø School:
2014-2016
Sports and Activities:
I joined drama club, and I was in Summer Ball committee that helps the student to arrange the prom night event at the end of the year. The most valuable experience I've gained from activities I had been involved in was being one of the student ambassadors. We are the organisation that represent the student as a whole and helping teachers and all the students to make school a better place.
College Enrolled:
University of Westminster
Home Town, State:
Indonesia

Reflections and Advice:

1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative to other boarding schools?
EF Academy is the only international boarding school which has many cultural diversities with students from 72 different countries that has given the student a lot of opportunities not only studying in the UK either doing a-level or ib, but it also allows student to get the most valuable experience by sharing ideas and having connection from all over the world.
2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school?
Being in boarding school given me a lot of experiences that I believe I would never get if I was not in boarding school before, it taught me how to manage myself, finance, and became more independent. One of the achievement I got was being the student ambassadors of the year from Indonesia, and we got the chance to go to Den Haag trip as a prize, and we joined the summit about tackling human rights.
3.) What might you have done differently during your boarding school experience?
My advice is be brave, to anyone that actually going to boarding school. It's not going to be scary as you thought it would be the best experience in your life through ups and downs.
4.) What did you like most about your school?
I like the fact that I'm having friend from all over the world and we still keep in touch even after we graduated. They are the best people I have ever met!
5.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school?
Bring as enough things you could, don't bring too much, you can always buy the basic needs things such as toiletry and food there. You can always study at Brooke's library and I always like to make use of the best opportunity available and study somewhere like in nearest coffee shop. My fav spot was waterstones book shop in city centre.

Academics:

1.) Describe the academics at your school - what did you like most about it?
The academic was perfectly designed in my opinion. The ratio between teacher and student was low for only 1 : 10 usually, and the teacher helps a lot in all difficulties faced with extra-classes after school, or any weekend classes to make sure we are doing well. However, at the end, the expectation they had given to us might be higher than reality, but this issue would be depend on how hard you work during the term year. So if we're working very hard, the hard work would be paid off at the end of the year. The teacher are very kind and nice and super friendly, they are also helpful not only in subject's difficulties, but also in our daily problem and many university application process if we have any concern about anything they will always be there.

Athletics:

1.) Describe the athletics at your school - what did you like most about it?
What I like the most about athletic program that we have some extracurricular after school which involves sport and there are many different varieties available such as badminton, basketball, football, rugby and etc. The student can also request what their suggestion like if there are at least 5 people, they would open new boxing class if the demand for it is quite high. However, we don't really have much sport facilities inside the campus, but the outside available facilities such as gym and the court are available for us to use. So it's still easy to access any sport you would like to do. And

Art, Music, and Theatre:

1.) Describe the arts program at your school - what did you like most about it?
I was in theater club last year, and it was really good. We had qualified teacher that taught us the acting so we could actually learned a lot and having fun at the same time.

Extracurricular Opportunities:

1.) Describe the extracurriculars offered at your school - what did you like most about it?
I like being part of student ambassadors, it allows me to gained inter-personal skills not only helping school community as a whole, but also improve the leadership skills and communication and being involved in between student interaction and helps them to adapt to the environment.

Dorm Life:

1.) Describe the dorm life in your school - what did you like most about it?
I used to live in residence and was in host family during the second year. The dorm life was great. We are from different backgrounds but we are all away from our comfort zone which are our home, since we are international students that we live far away from home. The facilities are good, you got to share room in dorm, but you can choose to be in single room in host family.

Dining:

1.) Describe the dining arrangements at your school.
The time for dining was good, and the food was okay. But the time they let us to eat it's quite short, but I think it's still effective since we had 3 breaks in a day. And there are 3 kind of choices for lunch which are lunch, salad or burger stand. So the varieties of the food is also good.

Social and Town Life:

1.) Describe the school's town and surrounding area.
Town life was the best thing about being in Oxford. The school is only 15 minutes away from city centre, and being in international area surroundings by the most prestigious university in the UK has given us the opportunity to make us of the available resources there!
2.) Describe the social life at your school - what did you like most about it?
I like the fact that it is only an hour and a half from London and you can get basically everything you're looking for in London. And oxford has a good social life as well as it's half urban side of the city, and still suitable for studying as the environment is quiet enough for student.
