Reflections and Advice:

1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative to other boarding schools?
The Rectory School is focused on building a child's character, confidence, scholarship, and social/emotional development.
2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school?
I grew as a student and person. I understand better how I learn and how think. I feel more confident.
3.) What might you have done differently during your boarding school experience?
I wouldn't do anything differently.
4.) What did you like most about your school?
I liked most of all being with my friends and having supportive teachers. Rectory School knows a lot about teaching to every student and providing challenge and support when needed.
5.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school?
I recommend Hamilton and Upper Memorial Dorms

Academics:

1.) Describe the academics at your school - what did you like most about it?
What I liked most about Rectory School was that my teachers knew who I was and cared about me as a student and parent.

Athletics:

1.) Describe the athletics at your school - what did you like most about it?
The athletics at Rectory School are very strong and competitive. Students are required to participate in three team sports, and are coached by strong adults who know the sport and care about building skills.

Art, Music, and Theatre:

1.) Describe the arts program at your school - what did you like most about it?
The Music program at Rectory School is the strongest I've ever seen. The teachers are very experienced in choral and instrumental teaching, and the facilities more than rival a high school or college campus. Music students have many opportunities to perform in front of their peers at Chapel or special programs, and in many competitions.

Extracurricular Opportunities:

1.) Describe the extracurriculars offered at your school - what did you like most about it?
Rectory School students can participate in Student Government, clubs, and weekend activities. There is a First Friday activity for the student community and community service activities to get involved in.

Dorm Life:

1.) Describe the dorm life in your school - what did you like most about it?
I liked having a single room and a dorm master nearby. The dorms are intimate and not overcrowded, yet you feel as though you are part of the larger residential community.

Dining:

1.) Describe the dining arrangements at your school.
Rectory School has a fantastic dining room. It's spacious, full of light, and serves decent food. You have a lot of selections and get to eat with your friends and one adult.

Social and Town Life:

1.) Describe the school's town and surrounding area.
The town of Pomfret feels much like a small family community. Pomfret supports Rectory students and it offers those special things to do, such as quick ice cream shop runs, shopping runs, and fast-food runs for those late nights when I study.
2.) Describe the social life at your school - what did you like most about it?
We had many dances and special events at our school. We also had activities with other schools in the surrounding area.
